How Does Mobility Scooter Delivery Work for Walt Disney World Resort Hotels?
For most third-party rentals, the delivery driver will meet you directly at the resort on your arrival day to hand over the keys and show you how the equipment works. When you check out, they will meet you at the resort to pick it up.
Where Can I Charge My Electric Scooter While at the Theme Parks?
While modern rental batteries easily last a full park day on a single charge, you can plug in your scooter at any accessible wall outlet in the parks. Great charging spots include quick-service restaurants, the Tangled restroom area in Magic Kingdom, and inside the Land Pavilion at Epcot.
Can I Take a Rented Mobility Scooter on the Disney Skyliner, Monorail, and Buses?
Yes, all Disney transportation systems are accessible. Rented mobility scooters can drive directly onto the Disney Monorail and the Disney Skyliner. (On the Skyliner, cast members will direct you to a stationary boarding area so you have extra time to drive in). Disney buses have ramps and securement areas that hold up to two mobility devices per bus.
Which Disney World Rides Allow You to Stay in Your Scooter?
Disney categorizes ride access into three tiers. Several rides, like the Jungle Cruise (on accessible boats) and the Walt Disney World Railroad, allow you to remain in your scooter. However, many rides require you to transfer from your scooter to a standard wheelchair, and others require you to transfer completely into the ride vehicle. Always be sure to check with the theme park itself for the most up-to-date information regarding their current rules and regulations.
Is it better to rent a stroller in Orlando or fly with my own?
Renting a stroller locally saves you the hassle of navigating the airport, gate-checking a bulky item, additional fees, and risking airline damage. Local rentals are dropped off directly at your hotel or vacation home, saving trunk space in your rental car.
What should I do with my electric scooter when it rains at Florida theme parks?
Florida weather is unpredictable. You must always protect the scooter’s tiller (the dashboard with the electronics). You can use a standard poncho to cover the steering controls, or rent a canopy add-on to shield both yourself and the console from afternoon downpours.
